Hi, people.


I'm sure you've all heard of twitter. I've been thinking about making a twitter account for the attic. I think it could help promote the site, get more readers and maybe more writers as well...

I asked Tally (tinuviel) about it and she thinks it's a good idea...I want to know what you guys think as well so I set up a poll.

Also, if you got suggestions on what the user name should be, you can tell me here. of course its got to have something to do with the site...

Like the idea! Use twitter too, but only to "stalk" others and when I'm bored LOL

First thought of the name of the website but no idea how to find it then..and no idea how the search function works, so something with fanfictions, tennis, Marat...not really helpful I know..

For the writers who are already following, here's how it should work:

From you own accounts, if you got a new chapter posted do this:
@fics_inTheAttic Ch. __ of #(Who's the fic about) #FanFic "Title of the Fic" (URL of the latest chapter.)

Important # signs are important so other people can see the tweet when they search for that particular topic.

example: Chapter 171 of #Marat #Safin #Fanfic "Vienna Waltz" now available bit.ly/4e4Ew9

NOTE: this url " bit.ly/4e4Ew9 " was a short version of the url of the page where the chapter is located in this board. Twitter automatically shortens it so you can type more letters/characters.

The admins of the twitter account will the "RT" or re-tweet your tweets for other people who aren't following you can see it too and also make more appearance in the searched topics pages.

Hey Annie

New to this tweeting lark. Have tried my best and tweeted ( ) on my own twitter account Redtally, and also as your instructions with the @fics_inTheAttic. However can't get it to auto reduce to a short url and only seems to take the one for the main home page - the one uses too many characters. Any ideas tweeters???

Any help would be appreciated

Oh also - don't understand the re tweeting bit either. Maybe I'm just tired - yawn zzzzzzzzz!

Hey - I think I'm awake this morning and have cracked the shortening of urls for tweeting. Found the software so should be fine from now on. Here is the link for anyone else out there who needs it.
